Remora, the assistant that holds on

Remora is Instaigram's chat assistant. It drafts replies in your tone, translates forty-one languages inside any thread, and condenses a weekend of messages into a short brief you can read in twenty seconds.

It only appears where you invite it. Remora never reads a thread you haven't added it to, and its model runs on device for everything except long-document translation.

Voice notes you can search

Hold to talk, release to send — the way it has always worked. What's new is what happens next: your phone quietly writes a transcript, links it to the note, and makes the whole thread searchable by keyword. The audio stays audio; the transcript is a convenience layer you can delete without touching the original.

Instaigram video calls carry three live effects: captioning for every spoken word, background softening that keeps you sharp while the room blurs, and light correction for evening calls. We deliberately ship no beauty filters and no face reshaping — the goal is clarity, not costume.

Pinned decisions

Pin any message as a decision. It rises to the thread header so newcomers stop re-asking the same question in month three.

Side comments

Long conversations branch without splitting: mark a reply as a side comment and it collapses by default for everyone else.

Delivery honesty

Sent, delivered, read — three states, no ambiguity, no "last seen" broadcast. You choose whether typing indicators exist at all.

Security

Encryption is the floor, not the ceiling

Every conversation — direct, group or call — is end-to-end encrypted with keys generated on your devices. We keep no plaintext logs, no backup copies without your passphrase, and no analytics inside message content.
